Some individuals embrace their scars, viewing them as distinctive and unique. However, for those who prefer to reduce the visibility of their scars, there are effective natural remedies that not only minimize their appearance but also accelerate the healing process of wounds.
Herbs, Oils, Aloe Vera, and Raw Honey
Herbal actives which include anti-inflammaty-rich properties, antioxidants, active phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals support and accelerate wound healing and the regeneration of connective tissue. Using herbs through oil infusions is most ideal, as the carrier oils provide rich fatty acids and nutrient-dense benefits that help break up scar tissue.
There are many herbs to use for infusions that help with scarring. Here are some of our favorites: chickweed, bilberry, rosemary, lavender, calendula, eyebright, slippery elm, skullcap, neem, fennel, alfalfa, rose hips, dandelion. Herbs assist the body to support cell regeneration and new cell growth, sooth, calm, and protect from infection which accelerates healing.
Hemp, sunflower, almond, sea buckthorn, olive, marula, argan, rosehip, neem, and many other nut and seed oils help reinforce the mantle barrier and support new cell formation.
We make all of our plant extracts and infusion in fresh, small batches to harness the plants' ultimate potency and power. I suggest using our Herbal Infusion Oil to assist in the final step of this treatment sequence. Herbal Infusion Oil is a rich concentration of potent healing herbs in rich fatty acid carrier oils. Herbal Infusion Oil provides exceptional nourishment, striking the ideal balance between deep lipid hydration and quick absorption. Formulated with antioxidant-rich extracts and a powerful blend of rejuvenating fatty acids.
Aloe vera gel contains over 200 bioactive constituents, rich phytochemical nutrients including enzymes, polysaccharides, sterols, antioxidants, glycoproteins, fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals.
Aloe vera helps heal burns, inflamed skin conditions, cuts, and wounds of all kinds, by accelerating healing with plant hormones called Auxins and Gibberellins, stimulating cell replication. Aloe vera protects the healing process from infection though it’s antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-viral, anti-fungal properties. Aloe vera contains B-Sisterole a fatty acid that helps reduce and inhibit inflammation, a major function in the body's healing process. Aloe vera also contains Glucomannans, a unique cell that works to repair damaged tissue.
Raw honey has been used medicinally for centuries and is incredible at assisting the body in healing and assuaging the appearance of scars. Ethically harvested raw honey is the base of our Active Enzyme Exfoliator. Raw honey contains powerful natural antioxidants, antibacterial agents, calming and soothing properties and is a natural humectant trapping in hydration, stimulating circulation, and facilitating the body's healing process. While it is recommended to use raw honey to help minimize scars, it is not recommended to use it on open wounds.
