Ginkgos are large long-lived trees that are native to China, and are that country’s national tree. Some Ginkgos are thought to live as long as 2500 years and are extremely hardy plants. According to the fossil record Ginkgos have survived basically unchanged for the past 270 million years, and Ginkgos are one of the few living things that were able to survive the nuclear attack on Hiroshima (6 trees just 2 kilometers from the blast site are still alive today).
For skin care Ginkgo Leaf is prized for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been found to improve the skin’s protection from UVB rays as well as help the production of collagen.
